Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends!

The ‘Initiative Stolpersteine Göppingen e.V.’ is a group of people interested in local history who work on a voluntary basis.

We research the fates of citizens in the district of Göppingen who were expelled or murdered by the Nazis. These include people persecuted for racism, political opponents, social outcasts, victims of ‘euthanasia’ and men who were persecuted because of their sexual orientation.

Once the research has been completed, we will ask the Cologne artist Gunter Demnig to produce stumbling blocks and lay them at the former place of residence. We are seeking contact with schoolchildren for the laying ceremonies. The initiative also organises the financing of the Stolpersteine and is happy to receive stone sponsorships. Once a Stolperstein has been laid on public ground, the stone becomes the property of the respective municipality.

We would like to thank all private individuals, local authorities and companies who have supported and continue to support the Stumbling Stones project and our initiative through free services or donations. As a non-profit organisation, we can issue donation receipts. Special thanks go to our contemporary witnesses with their memories and memorabilia.

Even though many fates have already been documented in the district of Göppingen, the task of the Stolpersteine initiative is not yet complete. The biographical texts are constantly being added to and updated. Following the texts, you have the opportunity to send us additions or comments. We can also be contacted by e-mail or telephone.
