Ida&#8217;s father-in-law had founded a cotton goods factory and Ida&#8217;s husband ran it together with her brother-in-law Bernhard. Ida also came from a merchant&#8217;s family; she was the third of seven siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One year after the wedding, their daughter Elisabeth was born, who would later become an English language teacher; another year later, the Krailsheimers were happy to celebrate the birth of their daughter Martha. Elisabeth then decided to marry the non-Jewish bank clerk Georg Gussmann and during the Nazi era, the &#8216;mixed marriage&#8217; enabled Elisabeth to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Nazi era, Ida had to leave the apartment in which she had lived for decades. At the beginning of February, she was sent to the Schloss Wei\u00dfenstein forced residential home; in August of the same year, she was sent to the Theresienstadt concentration camp.
